Ed Elslager's large H. sieboldiana type selection from 'Dorothy Benedict' X H. hypoleuca cross produces very large leaves with a dark green center. A very wide greenish yellow margin circles the nearly round corrugated leaves. Pale lavender flowers top the clump in midsummer. $20.00
'Abiqua Drinking Gourd' (Walden West 87) Large 24" high by 48" wide, near white flowers on 24" scapes. Leaves are thick, rich dark blue, deeply cupped and heavily corrugated. In fact, no other hosta boasts such deeply cupped leaves. Depth of the leaf cupping can be up to 4" and the powdery gray underside of the leaves is often visible because of the cupping. Named so, because a dog was seen drinking water from one of the leaves. Light to full shade. Slug resistant. $30.00

'August Moon' (Summers 96) Large 20" high by 45" wide. Large and deeply crinkled, leaves 9" long by 8" wide. Outstanding; gold intensifies in brighter light. A truly lutescent hosta. Round cupped leaves (6"x5") unfurl in the spring a vivid chartreuse. During summer these thick leaves turn a golden color that will brighten any dark corner. Not just for shade, their best color is displayed when given some sun. Several plants together in a natural drift are spectacular. 'Avocado' (Diesens) Large 24"h by 54"w. Leaf blade 10" by 8". Medium gold center with 2" wide green margin. Very nice sport of H. 'Guacamole', dark green margin is quite wide and surrounds a narrow gold center. Overall appearance of the plant is a lot darker than its parent and the leaves seem to be somewhat thicker. 'Blue Angel' (Aden 86) Giant hosta, 32" high by 70-90" wide, white flowers. Leaf blade 16" by 12". Small round gray-green leaves are comprised of a substance so thick you have to feel it to believe it. Lavender flowers on short scapes proportionate to the clump top it in midsummer. 'Blueberry Muffins' NEW 2010 15" high by 40" wide. This excellent new blue hosta is a strong grower and reliable performer in the landscape. It forms a medium sized mound of large, blue, rounded leaves that are rugose and puckered in unusual patterns. Late in the season, the foliage transitions to green. 'Brother Stephan' Large hosta, 28" high by 62" wide. Of all the spectacular hosta introductions Olga has blessed us with over the years, I would have to say 'Brother Stephan' is simply one of the best. A moderate grower, 'Brother Stefan' boasts large, heavily corrugated gold leaves with a wide dark green margin. Near white flowers top the thick leaves in early summer. 'Cameo' (H. Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery, 2002) Dwarf hosta, 8" high by 16" wide. Hosta 'Cameo' is the last in the series of variegated miniature hostas derived from 'Baby Bunting'. Essentially the reverse variegation pattern of 'Pandora's Box' it features tiny round green leaves edged with a creamy-white margin. Tiny lavender flowers top the clump in early summer. 'Cameo' is particularly effective in a trough or rock garden, or along a path in the shaded woodland garden. $20.00
'Candy Dish' NEW 2010 (Summers, Wrede 2003) (Urajiro Hachijo seedling) - Medium, (12 X 24 or larger) This may be as close to the perfect hosta leaf as there is. Start with heavy substance and dark green color, then add a deeply ruffled margin to a broad heart-shaped leaf with purple petioles. 'Cat's Eyes' (Japan NR) Dwarf hosta, 5" high by 14" wide. Site in good light to light shade with some morning sun. Very cute! This new miniature H. venusta hybrid from Japan is another great addition to the increasing selection of these charming dwarf hostas. The small rounded dark green leaves are each highlighted by a wide creamy white center. H. This Gil Jones introduction is a sport of the dramatic H. 'High Noon'. Instead of having all gold leaves, however, H. 'Climax' has heavily corrugated green leaves, each with a 1" wide golden border. Each large 4'+ clump has the same vase-shaped habit of H. 'High Noon'. In late spring, this specimen hosta is topped with 32" scapes of light lavender flowers....a superb specimen plant! 'Clovelly' 22" high by 48" wide. Easily recognizable at a single glance; has one of the best ruffled leaf edges of any hosta. Green hosta with large, nearly round, horizontally held leaves with prominent deep piecrust edges. Even young plants show the attractive ruffling. This plant is named for the pebbled streets of Clovelly, England because mature leaves show some pebbling or dimpling on the surface. Quickly forms a neat, open mound of foliage with good substance. 'Corkscrew' (R. Solberg, 2003) Dwarf, 8" high by 18" wide. Hosta 'Corkscrew' has to be one of the most distinct green hostas to hit the market in years. Considered a "hybridizer's breakthrough," this Solberg introduction (H. 'Tortifrons' x 'One Man's Treasure') features glossy, dark green leaves that are twisted and curled like H. 'Tortifrons'. 'Country Mouse' (H. Hansen, NR) Dwarf hosta, 6" high by 14" wide. 'Country Mouse' displays tiny heart-shaped, blue-green leaves encircled with a pure white margin. This sport of 'Bill Dress's Blue' forms a miniature clump of foliage set close to the ground. Purpleflowers top the clump in midsummer. 'Craker Crumbs' (R. Solberg, 2002) Dwarf hosta, 7" high by 15" wide. Looking for a new miniature hosta for that special spot in the garden or to jazz up a trough of other minis? 'Cracker Crumbs', introduced at the 2002 AHS Convention in Spokane, WA in June, has bright shiny, gold leaves with a shiny, dark margin that looks painted on. Like it's parent, 'Shiny Penny', the color becomes chartreuse, almost coppery in summer's heat. It has great substance and makes a tight, fast growing mound. Nice lavender flowers in mid-summer... $15.00
