PHLOX (SUMMER PHLOX) ZONE 3-9
Phlox paniculata is unequaled for showy blooms over a long period throughout the summer. Though they are some of the most popular perennials available, they do require some maintenance to sustain their health and vigor. Tall Garden Phlox grows best in rich, moist soil in full sun. It will thrive with bi-monthly fertilizing and consistant moisture levels. Overhead watering should be avoided since some varieties of phlox are susceptible to powdery mildew. This can be avoided or diminished by providing ample air circulation around the plants and by thinning them out periodically. Deadheading will prolong bloom time and prevent self-seeding.

Lavender blue blossoms with a white center and a tiny red eye are produced from mid thru late summer. Their delicious fragrance attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. Standing over 3 feet tall, this is a good selection for the back of the border. 40" high. $12.00 or 3 for $35.00

An improved form of Tall Garden Phlox, the Junior Series offers short, compact plants that bloom all summer long. Unlike most varieties, members of the Junior Series branch from the crown, resulting in shorter plants with a bushy habit. 'LAURA'
