1. 'June' (Neo Plants 91) Medium 15" high by 30" wide, violet flowers. Leaves are yellow with an irregular blue margin overlapping the center, resulting in blue and celadon streaking. Can be grown in full sun or full shade and the result is two very different coloured hostas. In sun the center of the leaf becomes cream-white. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant.


June
2. 'Sagae' (AHS 87) Giant hosta 36" high by 70" wide. Leaf blade 14" by 10". Thick, smooth blue-tinted mid-green turning grey-green, widely and irregularly margined bright yellow turning creamy white with celadon streaks, widely spaced veins; edge widely undulate, flat to slightly folded, widely oval with a cuspidate tip. 'A.M.G. Hosta of the Year 2000'. Has an upright habit and gradually makes a huge specimen. Sun tolerant. Slug resistant.


Sagae
3. 'Sum and Substance' (Aden 80) Giant hosta 30" high by 80" wide. Leaf blade 18" by 15" and larger. Thick, light green turning chartreuse to muted gold, shiny, ribbed veins; edge slightly rippled, widely oval with a strongly cuspidate tip, slightly cupped or convex. Morning sun with plenty of moisture. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant.


Sum and Substance
4. 'Striptease' (Thompson 91) Large 20" high by 48" wide, violet flowers. A dark green leaf margin with a gold to cream center that is separated with a unique strip of white in the center of each leaf. This hosta produces many sports. A one of a kind hosta! Sun tolerant.

5. 'Guacamole' (Solberg 94) Large 24" high by 50" wide, large fragrant near-white flowers. Leaf blade 11" by 8". Good substance, chartreuse turning old-gold, irregularly margined dark green with chartreuse streaks jetting toward the midrib, glossy, prominently veined; edge almost flat, slightly convex, heart shaped. Site in morning sun and more. Hosta of the year 2002. Sun tolerant.

Guacamole
6. 'Paul's Glory' (Hofer/Ruh 87) Large 25" high by 48" wide. Thick, chartreuse turning golden yellow, irregularly margined dark blue-green with some streaks, corrugated; edge flat to kinked, slightly folded or convex, widely oval with cuspidate tip. Center will bleach to ivory-white if exposed to hot sun. Nice blue margins. Hosta of the Year 1999. Particularly vivid and dramatic leaf colouring. Sun tolerant. Slug resistant.


Paul's Glory
7. 'Krossa Regal' (Krossa/Summers 80) Giant hosta 28" high by 70" wide. Leaf blade 11" by 7". Good substance, smooth, soft grey-blue, widely veined; edge slightly undulate, slightly arching. Forms an eye-catching, upright, vase-shaped mound of dense foliage. Hosta of great architectural merit. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant.


Krossa Regal
8. 'Paradigm' (Walden West NR) Large 24" high by 40" wide. Thick, chartreuse-green turning yellow widely margined dark green jetting to midrib, satiny, intensely corrugated and puckered; edge slightly rippled, folded to cupped, heart shaped. Enjoys some morning sun. The variegation pattern intensifies later in the spring. Slug resistant.


Paradigm Hosta
9. 'Blue Angel' (Aden 86) Giant hosta, 30" high by 90" wide, white flowers. Leaf blade 16" by 12". Thick, dark blue-grey to dark blue-green, slight dimpling when mature, prominent, closely ribbed veins; edges rippled, arching, convex. Grow in few hours of morning sun followed by light shade. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant.


Blue Angel
10. montana 'Aureomarginata' (AHS 87) Giant hosta 27" high by 72" wide, near white flowers. Leaf blade 15" by 8". Rich dark green, widely and irregularly margined golden yellow to creamy white, with light olive-green transitional streaks, closely spaced veins; edge slightly undulate, arching. Site in light to moderate shade. It is still one of the most outstanding eye-catching hostas ever introduced. Sun tolerant.


montana Aureomarginata
11. 'Halcyon' (Smith 88) Medium 15" high by 40" wide, near white flowers. Smooth, intense blue; edge almost flat, widely oval with a long thin tip. Holds colour well into late summer in good light to dappled shade. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant.


Halcyon
12. 'Regal Splendor' (Walters Gardens 87) Large 32" high by 48" wide. Leaf blade 11" by 6". Thick, glaucous grey-blue irregularly margined yellow to creamy white with some streaks, closely ripped veins; edge rippled, arching, folded, oval with a cuspidate tip. The plant has a unique vase-shaped form. Hosta of the Year, 2003. Sun tolerant. Slug resistant.


Regal Splendor
13. 'Sun Power' (Aden 86) Large 22" high by 50" wide. Leaf blade 12" by 7". Thick, chartreuse turning bright golden yellow, prominently veined, slightly dimpled; edge widely undulate. Pointed bright gold leaves, with distinctive upright habit. Top of the list of gold hostas, will brighten any corner. Sun tolerant.


Sunpower
14. 'Stained Glass' (Hansen/Shady Oaks, 99) Medium 20" high by 36" wide, large, fragrant, pale lavender flowers. Leaf blade 10" by 7". Golden yellow with a wide, irregular dark green margin, dimpled, strongly and widely veined; edge slightly undulate, convex, widely oval with a cuspidate tip. Sport of 'Guacamole'. Sun tolerant.


Stained Glass
15. 'Gold Standard' (Banyai 76) 24" high by 50" wide. So named for its warm golden yellow leaf center trimmed by deep green on the edges. Performs best in shade with little sun, and moderate to high watering. The funnel shaped lavender flower will appear throughout July and August. This is one of the best and most popular of all the Hosta. Sun tolerant.


Gold Standard
16. 'Great Expectations' (Bond/Aden 88) Large 24" high by 48" wide, near white flowers. Beautiful large round puckered leaves with wide, irregular streaking margins of blue and light green (up to seven different colours); leaf centers begin gold and changing to cream. Needs morning sun or very open shade to grow properly. Sun tolerant. Slug resistant.


Great Expectations
17. 'Abiqua Drinking Gourd' (Walden West 87) Large 20" high by 45" wide, near white flowers on 24" scapes. Leaves are thick, rich dark blue, deeply cupped and heavily corrugated. In fact, no other hosta boasts such deeply cupped leaves. Depth of the leaf cupping can be up to 4" and the powdery gray underside of the leaves is often visible because of the cupping. Named so, because a dog was seen drinking water from one of the leaves. Light to full shade. Slug resistant.


Abiqua Drinking Gourd
18. 'Patriot' (Machen 92) Large 20" high by 48" wide. Good substance, dark green center, extra wide crisp white margin; some celadon streaking; edge slightly rippled. This hosta glows in the shade garden and enhances the look of all plants around it. 1997 A.H.G. Hosta of the year. Sun tolerant.


Patriot
19. 'Inniswood' (Inniswood Gardens 93) Large 24" high by 48" wide. Thick, rich golden yellow widely and irregularly margined dark green with some streaks jetting to the midrib, heavily corrugated; edge widely undulate, shallowly cupped or convex, heart shaped. Slug resistant. Among the most popular hostas of its type. Sun tolerant. Slug resistant.


Inniswood
20. 'Whirlwind' (Kulpa 88) Medium 18" high by 40" wide. Thick, pale chartreuse becoming ivory to bright yellow then fading to drab green late, widely and irregularly margined dark olive-green with celadon streaking, strongly veined, slightly dimpled, twisted, recurved at the tip. Some morning sun is beneficial. Vigorous. Sun tolerant. Slug resistant.


Whirlwind
21. 'Love Pat' (Aden 78) Large 20" high by 36" wide, near white flower. Thick, rich blue, intensely corrugated; deeply cupped, nearly round with an abrupt tip. Upwardly poised, very cupped leaves, so the underside of the leaf is often visible. Good light to light shade all day. One of the most popular of all hostas. Sun tolerant. Slug resistant.


Love Pat Hosta
22. 'Fragrant Bouquet' 'Fragrant Bouquet' (Aden 82) Large 22" high by 36" wide, fragrant white flowers. Chartreuse to apple green, widely margined yellow to creamy-white, satiny, some dimpling, conspicuously veined; edge widely undulate, convex, heart shaped. Site in light shade to full sun, to produce the best leaf colours and the most prolific display of flowers. 1998 AHG Hosta of the year. Sun tolerant.


Fragrant Bouquet
23. 'On Stage' (Aden 86) Large 22" high by 40" wide. Leaf blade 13" by 8". Bright yellow, with a green cast in shade, widely and irregularly margined bright dark olive-green with light olive-green streaks, furrowed veins rough to touch; edge shallowly undulate with an acute often twisted tip. Considered identical to 'Choko Nishiki'. Sun tolerant.


On Stage
24. 'Guardian Angel' 'Guardian Angel' (Thompson) Giant 28" high by 55" wide, near white flowers. Leaf blade 16" by 10". Thick, emerging greenish white turning light blue-green and finally mid-green, widely and irregularly margined dark blue-green, with streaks jetting toward the midrib, dimpled, prominently veined; edge conspicuously rippled with a twisted tip, folded, heart shaped. Striking sport of 'Blue Angel'.


Guardian Angel
25. 'Summer Music' 'Summer Music' (Klehm NR) Medium 12" high by 18" wide. Thin, chartreuse turning pure white widely and irregularly margined olive-green with chartreuse streaks, dimpled to corrugated, widely spaced veins; edge slightly rippled, twisted, convex with the tip recurved, widely oval. One of my favourite hostas. Best in morning sun.
