'Dance With Me' (Hansen/Shady Oaks) LARGE (16" high by 40" wide.) Hans Hansenbrings us another wonderful sport from H. 'Summer Music': this one is the reverse of H. 'Last Dance' and has wonderful yellow heart-shaped leaves framed with a wide dark green margin. Great substance and a vigorous growth rate on a clump topped with lavender flowers. Slug resistant and sun tolerant. $17.00 and $30.00

'Dancing in the Rain' LARGE (32' high by 40" wide.) An outstanding sport from H. 'Blue Umbrellas', dramatic leaves have large pure white centers with blue-green streaks and margins. Centers will green somewhat in warm climates but here in the NW they remain nice and white all season. Topped with pale lavender flowers. $17.00

'Dancing Queen' (K. Terpening, 2005) LARGE (24" high by 40" wide.) This nice introduction from Kent Terpening features broad, wedge-shaped leaves of a bright yellow with a wonderful rippled edge. Lavender flowers top the vigorous clump in mid summer. $17.00

'Dancing Stars' NEW 2012 LARGE (24" high by 40" wide.) An improvement over ‘Dancing in the Rain’. ‘Dancing Stars’ has all the great qualities of its parent, including a crisp white center (emerges cream) and sharply contrasting blue-green margins. However, you’ll appreciate that this new introduction is a stronger grower with wider margins and foliage of much thicker substance. The attractive foliage forms a large mound topped with light lavender flowers on white scapes in midsummer. $20.00

'Dark Shadows' (H. Hansen, 2004) LARGE (20" high by 40" wide.) 'Dark Shadows' features thick heart-shaped leaves with a gently ruffled edge. In early spring the emerging blue leaves have an uneven chartreuse-yellow margin which changes to green by early summer. Pale lavender flowers top the large clump in early summer. 'Deane's Dream' (Solberg 2000) (‘Blue Arrow’ X ‘Sea Fire’) MEDIUM (14" high by 36" wide.) Medium upright mound of pointed blue leaves that are a unique aqua or green turquoise in color, with bright purple petioles up to the leaf blade; lavender flowers in July. Named for Bob Deane who loved blue hostas. $17.00

'Deja Blu' LARGE (19" high by 45" wide.) A sport of 'Blue Boy'. Blue-green leaves with a cream lightning bolt that dances between the center of the leaf and the yellow margin. Light lavender flowers are produced on 18-20" scapes in early to midsummer. $17.00

'Designer Genes' NEW 2012 MEDIUM (15" high by 30" wide.) ‘Designer Genes’ is incredibly striking in the spring as the brilliant yellow leaves emerge from contrasting deep wine red shoots. It quickly grows to form a medium sized mound of bright yellow leaves with showy bright red petioles. Compared to other yellow hostas, this variety holds its coloring longer. Later in the season, the foliage mellows to more of a chartreuse green color. Tall, red scapes carry the purple flowers in late summer. $17.00

'Devil's Advocate' LARGE (36" high by 48" wide.) This big and beautiful sport of the classic ‘Blue Angel’ forms a giant, upright mound of blue-green leaves with green margins in spring. The variegation becomes showier as the season progresses, as the margins brighten to light apple green. Like its parent, this plant has large, heart-shaped leaves of heavy substance. It is a fast grower and reliable performer in the landscape. White flowers top the clump in midsummer. $20.00

'Dorset Blue' (Smith/Aden 77) SMALL (10" high by 24" wide.) Near white flowers; thick, intense bright blue, corrugated; edge slightly undulate, cupped, heart shaped to near round. Small mound of tick, heart shaped foliage with an outstanding blue color, lavendar flowers in mid-August, one of the bluest hostas ever introduced. Slug resistant. Dappled to full shade. $17.00

'Dorset Clown' DWARF (8” high by 16” wide.) Leaf Detail: Streaked 6” long by 4 1/2” wide; heavily streaked yellow to creamy white on a deep blue-green base; corrugated; thick substance. Flowering: very pale lavender flowers in July on 18” scapes. Comments: well-known, but hardly grown Herb Benedict cultivar descended from ‘Dorset Blue’; great in the garden and as a breeding plant. $40.00

'Dream Weaver' (Ruetenik/Walek 96) GIANT (32" high by 70" wide.) Thick, chartreuse turning ivory-white, very widely margined dark blue-green with streaks jetting towards the midrib, corrugated; edge slightly rippled, slightly cupped, heart shaped. Lower light levels will produce a more pleasing leaf colour. Needs dividing to keep the striking leaf pattern. 'Dream Weaver' came to us from Kevin Walek and B. Ruetenik in 1996. It is a sport of 'Great Expectations' and the leaf differs dramatically in that the blue-green border is much wider than that of its progenitor.Slug resistant and near white flowers. $17.00

'Duke of Cornwall' GIANT (24" high by 58" wide.) Leaf Detail: Gold margin 12 1/2" long by 8" wide; blue-green in the center; 1" to 2" wide gold margin; good substance. 'Emerald Ruff Cut' LARGE (20” high by 40” wide.) Leaf detail: 8” long by 5” wide; gold center with a rippled, ½” wide, dark green margin. Flowering: pale lavender flowers in July on 28” scapes. 'Empress Wu' GIANT (39" high by 66" wide.) Huge dark green, deeply veined leaves of good substance can measure more than 1½ feet wide and long. Strongly upright habit, forming a very tall and wide clump. Pale reddish violet flowers appear just above the foliage in early to midsummer. An outstanding focal point and topic of conversation in your shade garden! Registered by Skaggs. Largest leaves of any hosta. $17.00

'English Sunrise' (Zilis) MEDIUM (16" high by 34" wide.) Thick, smooth, bright golden yellow softening to chartreuse-green by mid-summer but remaining bright in good light; edge slightly rippled, oval to heart shaped. This is the all gold form of'June' and is essentially identical except that it does not have the blue border. Because it retains the glaucous bloom on the leaf it is, One of the nicest golds, especially in the spring. Like 'June', the color is very dependent on the light level and season. Sun tolerant. 'Eskimo Pie' (Walters) MEDIUM (22" high by 30" wide.) Near white flowers. Sport from H. 'Northern Exposure', puckered leaves have pale yellow centers, streaked with chartreuse to the center, and surrounded by blue-green margins. As the season progresses the centers fade to cream and the streaking turns apple-green. Topped with white flowers. Slug resistant. $17.00

'Fantasy Island' (Bob Solberg) SMALL (10" high by 14" wide.) Leaves 4" by 3". Center yellow early, changing to creamy white; medium green margin; slightly wavy. 'Fat Cat' (Ward) LARGE (22" high by 52" wide.) A new attractive giant, gold leaved Hosta that is sure to please! Leaf size is about 15" long x 15" wide. Requires morning sun! It was the top leaf in the Columbus Central Ohio Hosta Society leaf show in 2004. Near white flowers. Acts like a brighter, smaller version of 'Sum and Substance' with more heavily corrugated. 'Fire Island' (W. Brincka 98) MEDIUM (18" high by 30" wide.) Moderate substance, bright, pale acid-yellow turning chartreuse, shiny; intensely corrugated; edges distinctly rippled. Petiole is intensely bright red and extends into the base of the leaf. One of the only yellow leaved hostas with red dotting on the leaf blade. Its parentage is H. longipes hypoglauca x H. 'Crested Surf' Sun tolerant. $17.00

'First Frost' (P. Scolnik) MEDIUM (14" high by 36" wide.) Foliage changes from blue centered with gold margin to dark green with creamy margin; celadon streaking into the midrib. Sport of 'Halcyon'. 'Fragrant Blue' LARGE (20" high by 48" wide.) Thick, smooth powdery blue leaves. Fragrant, lavender flowers. 'Fragrant Blue' is one of the bluest hostas and something of a breakthrough in breeding. It combines the fragrance of plantagenia with the blue color of sieboldiana. Paul Aden registered it in 1988 and lists its parentage as two numbered seedlings. $17.00

'Fragrant Bouquet' (Aden 82) LARGE (22" high by 48" wide.) Fragrant white flowers. Chartreuse to apple green, widely margined yellow to creamy-white, satiny, some dimpling, conspicuously veined; edge widely undulate, convex, heart shaped. Site in light shade to full sun, to produce the best leaf colours and the most prolific display of flowers. 1998 AHG Hosta of the year. Sun tolerant. $17.00

'Fragrant Dream' (Marco Fransen) LARGE (24" high by 50" wide.) This new introduction from Holland's Marco Fransen is another wonderful sport from the popular Hosta 'Fragrant Bouquet'. H. 'Fragrant Dream' forms a large 4' wide clump of dark green foliage edged with a wide creamy yellow border. In midsummer, the older foliage changes to a creamy white border and the clumps are topped with 2' tall spikes of large near-white very fragrant flowers....superb! Sun tolerant. $17.00

'Fragrant Queen' LARGE (22" high by 48" wide.) We have been quite impressed with this new introduction in the ‘Fragrant Bouquet’ line. Its elongated heart-shaped leaves display wider, creamy to pure white margins, a darker green center, and are of better substance. In comparison to ‘Sweet Innocence’, it has a darker green center and a faster growth rate. It holds up well all season long and exhibits some sun tolerance. Large, fragrant, flashy near-white to light lavender flowers are produced above the foliage in late summer. $17.00

'Francee' (Klopping 86) LARGE (21" high by 50" wide.) Rich dark green, crisply and narrowly margined white with some transitional celadon streaks, dimpled when mature; edge almost flat, heart shaped. Will tolerate morning sun and more but leaf colour will fade to pale olive-green. A classic hosta. Sun tolerant. $17.00

'Frances Williams' (William 86) GIANT (26" high by 63" wide.) Near white flowers. Leaf blade 12" by 11". Thick, waxy blue covering, blue-green widely and irregularly margined yellow turning creamy beige, corrugated, strongly veined; edge almost flat, cupped, heart shaped and folded. Slug resistant. $17.00

'Fried Green Tomatoes' GIANT (26" high by 60" wide.) Large green leaves that darken as the summer goes along. Fragrant, lavender flowers, sun tolerant.The all green sport of H. 'Guacamole', frosty-green leaves that become shiny later in the season. This one has great substance and can tolerate a good amount of sun. Following the lead of its parents and siblings it will be topped by large near-white fragrant flowers late in the season. $17.00

'Frost Giant' (W. Lefever, Solberg 2008) (‘Galaxy’ seedling) GIANT (28" high by 75" wide.) Big blue-green, sturdy, leaves that have a bright yellow margin that becomes cream in late summer make this a very stately hosta. Straight scapes produce near white flowers in June. A nice addition for that big hole in the back of the bed. $20.00

'Frosted Dimples' (D. Dean 99) MEDIUM (12" high by 32" wide.) Near white flowers. Elongated heart-shaped, blue leaves are edged with a crisp, creamy border. Thick leaves have a 'pebbled' surface, and hold their blue colouration well. This is an intense blue and has a irregular gold edge to off set the rich blue. The edge becomes a strong creamy yellow rather than white as the season progresses. The mound has a very 'flat presentation' rising only 12" fit for the front of a border and grows to 32" diameter. Another attention getter during the AHS 2000 tours in Minneapolis. Selected in part for the way it holds its blue color into the late fall Slug resistant. $17.00

'Frosted Mouse Ears' DWARF (7” high by 18” wide.) Leaf detail: 2 1/2” long by 2 1/4” wide; blue-green to dark green in the center with a wide, creamy white margin (yellow early); thick substance. Flowering: dense clusters of purple flowers in July on 12” scapes. Tissue culture sport out of ‘Royal Mouse Ears’ developed at QZ nursery. Imagine a wide, irregularly cream-colored margined hosta with serrate margins and white fragrant flowers in August. The leaves that fountain from the very upright clump have large undulations and some twisting. Unique in color and habit, it is great in a container or in the garden. $20.00

'Glory Hallelujah' (Hans Hansen, 2007) LARGE (20" high by 52" wide.) 'Glory Hallelujah', a reverse variegated sport of the classic 'Paul's Glory'. Broadly heart-shaped leaves are dark blue-green and are margined by a nice yellow edge. Pale lavender flowers open midsummer on proportionate flower scapes. A good grower that has darker, more pronounced variegation than the comparison variety 'Peter Ruh'. $17.00

'Gold Standard' (Banyai 76) LARGE (22" high by 60" wide.) So named for its warm golden yellow leaf center trimmed by deep green on the edges. Performs best in shade with little sun, and moderate to high watering. The funnel shaped lavender flower will appear throughout July and August. 'Grand Canyon' (O. Petryszyn/B. Brincka, 95) GIANT (28" high by 60" wide.) Long chartreuse-green leaves turning to gold; heavy substance; ruffled margin; heavily veined; upright vase shape. Near white flowers and sun tolerant. Grand Canyon has a new and exciting sculptured form. The glossy rounded leaves are held upright, and whirled into a trumpet at the base, displaying their white velvet backs. Deeply rippled with heavy veining. $17.00

'Great Escape' NEW 2012 MEDIUM (14" high by 36" wide.) Leaf Detail: 7" long by 5" wide; blue-green center; wide, white margin. Flowering: pale bluish lavender flowers from late July into mid-August on 26-30" scapes. Comments: ‘Great Escape’ differs from other ‘Halycon’ sports by its wide white margin that appears as the foliage emerges in spring. It is also notable for the vivid contrast between the white margin and the blue-green center. ‘Great Escape’ was developed by Jan van den Top of the Netherlands, who registered it with the American Hosta Society in 2006. $20.00

'Guacamole' (Solberg 94) LARGE (24" high by 54" wide.) Large fragrant near-white flowers. Leaf blade 11" by 8". Good substance, chartreuse turning old-gold, irregularly margined dark green with chartreuse streaks jetting toward the midrib, glossy, prominently veined; edge almost flat, slightly convex, heart shaped.
