'Hacksaw' (R. Livingston, NR) Dwarf hosta. Deviating from the traditional leaf shape in hostas, 'Hacksaw' displays long, tapered, light green leaves that are intensely rippled and lightly serrated on the leaf margins. With its incredibly vigorous growth rate and smaller plant habit, 'Hacksaw' lends itself for use as an edging plant. Masses of lavender flowers top the clump in mid to late summer. Exhibits good sun tolerance resulting in a lighter leaf color. $12.00
'Hadspen Blue' (Smith 88) Medium 18" high by 34" wide, near white flowers. Thick, smooth rich blue, some dimpling; edge almost flat, slightly cupped or convex, heart shaped to nearly round. 'Halcyon' (Smith 88) Medium 15" high by 40" wide, near white flowers. Smooth, intense blue; edge almost flat, widely oval with a long thin tip. Holds colour well into late summer in good light to dappled shade. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant. $15.00	Photo Walters Gardens
'Hampshire County' (W&E Lauchman 93) Medium 15" high by 30" wide. Broad dark green leaves with a clean very wide white margin. A timeless treasure from the Lachmans. $12.00
'Hanky Panky' (H. Hansen, Shady Oaks Nursery, 2004) Medium hosta. This unusual hosta has been described by nurserymen as "unlike any hosta we have ever seen" and "you've never seen a hosta like this before." Occuring as a natural sport of 'Striptease', 'Hanky Panky' emerges in the spring with dark green leaves edged with a pale lime edge. An ivory halo separates the center from the margin. As the summer progresses, the center brightens to a creamy-yellow color as the "Striptease-pattern" changes to a dark green and the margin then becomes near white. 'Harpoon' (Herold) Medium 16" high by 36" wide. Flowers are purple. Leaf blade 7" by 4". Leaves are shiny with dark green center and yellow margin; moderately wavy. Sharp contrast between dark green and yellow margin. $12.00	Photo Walters Gardens
'Harriette Ward' Giant hosta, 30” high by 60” wide. Leaf detail:14” long by 10” wide; bright gold; good substance. Flowering: very pale lavender flowers from mid-June into early July on 30” scapes. Brilliant gold foliage of excellent substance; becomes a large-sized mound useful as a specimen or background plant in the shaded garden; registered with the AHS by M. & M. Levy in 2000. $12.00

'Heart and Soul' (R. Mortko 2000) Dwarf hosta 8" high by 12" wide.This smaller hosta arose as a sport from 'Vanilla Cream'. It features yellow-gold heart-shaped foliage of good substance, with a nice green edge. Pale lavender flowers top the clump in midsummer. Combine this with 'Ice Cream' which has the reverse variegation pattern. $15.00
'Heart Broken' (Solberg) Dwarf hosta 8" high by 20" wide. Yellow leaves turning medium green with a heavily rippled margin. Sport of 'Faithful Heart', oval leaves on a small, dense clump. Pale purple flowers. $12.00	Photo Don Budd
'Heart's Content' (Vaughan) Large 22" high by 46" wide. Very thick, dark sage-green, widely and irregularly margined cream to white, small transitional celadon splashing, some corrugation; edge slightly undulate, mostly convex, oval shape. A very floriferous hosta that forms an overlapping, compact mound. Slug resistant. $12.00
'Heatwave' Medium hosta. From Holland's Jan van den Top. Puckered gold leaves with wide irregular blue margins. Leaves have a heavy substance. White flowers. A wider margined, better-growing sport of H. tokudama 'Bright Lights'. White flowers. $15.00
'Heavenly Tiara' A medium sized hosta. A sport of 'Grand Tiara'. Smooth leaves of heavy substance are gold with wide, light yellow, jetting margins in spring. 'Hideout' NEW 2010 (Leonard Jones) (Sport of ‘Hidden Cove’) - Mini, (4.5” X 11”) This little fella has very curly, white-centered, narrow dark green leaves that appear to be in constant motion. 'High Noon' (Seaver) Large 26" high by 46" wide. Leaf blade 14" by 9". Leaves thick, chartreuse to golden yellow, corrugated; edge shallowly undulate, cupped at the base and then arching, widely oval with cuspidate tip. Some morning sunlight will brighten the colour. 'High Tide' (H. Hansen, 2005) Medium hosta. 'High Tide' is a 1998 cross between H. longipes latifolia and H. 'Dorset Blue'. It features a nice compact clump, of frosty blue-green, heart-shaped leaves. Pretty lavender flowers open on 20 inch scapes in late summer. 'Hippodrome' Large hosta, 15" high by 40" wide. Leaf detail: 10" long by 9" wide; blue-green to dark green center, 1/4" wide, creamy yellow margin; thick substance. Flowering: near-white flowers in July on 20" scapes. Broad, dark green leaves with a neatly rippled, creamy yellow margin; hybrid of 'Christmas Tree' X 'Halcyon' from Alex Malloy. 'His Honor' Large hosta, 22" high by 48" wide. Leaf detail: 12" long by 9" wide; green-centered with a 1" wide, yellow margin; thick substance Flowering: whitish flowers in July on four-foot scapes. Large mound of Sieboldiana-type foliage with wide, yellow margins topped by tall scapes of whitish flowers; from Jim & Sandy Wilkins of Jackson, MI (2000 AHS). Slug resistant. $15.00
'Hollywood Lights' (H. Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery, 2005) Large hosta. The handsome, large, arching dark green leaves of 'Hollywood Lights' are accented by a yellow flare in the center of the leaf. The dome-shaped leaves form a large clump, and are topped by arching scapes of pale lavender flowers in midsummer. A wider-margined selection from H. 'On Stage'. $20.00
'Holy Mouse Ears' Dwarf hosta. 6” high by 16” wide. Leaf detail: 2 1/4” long by 2” wide; bluish green margin, yellow to creamy white center; thick substance. Flowering: dense clusters of purple flowers in July on short scapes. Comments: another TC sport out of ‘Royal Mouse Ears’ developed at our nursery; fantastic dwarf-sized, white-centered plant with a better than expected growth rate. Slug resistant. $15.00
'Hope' (Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery NR) Dwarf hosta 4" high by 10" wide. Tiny purple flowers. Companion plant for 'Pandora's Box'. Hope was the last item to remain when Pandora opened the box given to her by the gods. Green leaves with chartreuse to yellow margins with some streaking. $12.00
'Hush Puppie' (T. Avent, 2005) Small. This incredibly vigorous Hosta venusta hybrid features tiny, heart-shaped gray-green leaves edged with a creamy-white margin. Because of its diminutive size and rapid growth rate, it is suitable for edging garden paths, borders and landscape use. 'Hydon Sunset' (George 88) Dwarf hosta 4" high by 8" wide, deep purple flowers. Leaves miniature, heart-shaped, matt, bright yellow if in sun. Stunning! Sun tolerant. $12.00
'Hyuga Urajira' Small hosta. (Japan, NR) This stunning selection of Hosta kikutii was imported to the U.S. from Japan by Minnesota's Hosta Guru Hideko Gowen. H. 'Hyuga Urajiro' features frosty blue spear-like leaves with yellow streaks. The undersides of the leaves have a metalic silver coloration. A true collector's gem. $15.00
'Ice Age Trail' (Zilis) Large hosta, 16" high by 36" wide. Leaf detail: 10" long by 7" wide; heavily streaked foliage, a combination of blue-green and gold; color changes to dark green and creamy white by mid-summer; broadly ovate foliage; thick substance. Flowering: dense clusters of near-white flowers from late June into mid-July on 24" scapes. Beautifully streaked sport of 'Big Daddy'. Slug resistant. $17.00

'Ice Follies' NEW 2010 (Bill Meyer) 24" high by 50" wide. This showy variegated cultivar is a wide-margined sport of ‘Antioch’. Dark green leaves display wide, pure creamy white margins all season. The long, pointed leaves quickly form a nice mound, as it has a good growth rate. 'Illicit Affair' (Anderson) Dwarf hosta 5" high by 18" wide. Sport of 'Cheating Heart'. The green slightly wavy leaves are edged with a bright yellow margin; heart shaped. Forms a beautiful small, dense, clump. $12.00

'Inniswood' (Inniswood Gardens 93) Large 24" high by 48" wide. Thick, rich golden yellow widely and irregularly margined dark green with some streaks jetting to the midrib, heavily corrugated; edge widely undulate, shallowly cupped or convex, heart shaped. 'Invincible' (Aden 86) Large 20" high by 49" wide, fragrant lavender flowers. Leathery, glossy olive-green, widely spaced veins; edge distinctly rippled, folded, wedge-shaped with prominent tip. Sun tolerant. $12.00
'Island Charm' (Rasmussen/Malloy 97) Small 10" high by 22" wide, reddish leaf petioles and flower scapes. Smooth, ivory-cream, widely and irregularly margined in three shades of green, darkest at the edge with streaks; edge flat, slightly cupped, heart shaped. 'Itsy Bitsy Spider' NEW. Dwarf hosta, 2 1/2” high by 6” wide,dark green leaves. Flowering: pale lavender flowers in July on short scapes. 'Ivory Coast' Large hosta. A smaller sport of 'Sagae' with much wider leaf margins. Broadly ovate, pointed leaves are grey-green with rippled, yellow margins. Center darkens to blue-green and the edge lightens to ivory in summer. Grey-green jetting is present between the center and margin .Lavender flowers are produced on tall scapes in early summer. 'Jack of Diamonds' (Savory) Large 20" high by 36" wide, near white flowers. Very thick, leathery, rich blue-green irregularly margined yellow turning cream, corrugated; edge slightly undulate, shallowly cupped or convex, heart shaped. Slug resistant. 'Jason And Katie' (Hatfield) Medium 18" high by 36" wide. Dark green leaves are very round and corrugated and are surrounded by a bright yellow edge. $12.00
'Jerry Landwehr' (R. Williams, Plant Patent Rights Asserted) Medium to large hosta. This introduction from hosta collector Ron Williams of Green Bay, Wisconsin, features white heart-shaped leaves edged with a dark green margin. After many years of being in trial, it's good growth rate and durability become apparent. The clump looks as nice in October as it does in early summer. Lavender flowers top the clump in summer. $15.00
'Jewel of the Nile' (K. Walek, 2000) Medium 22" high by 24" wide. Thick blue-green irregularly margined golden yellow turning cream with streaks jetting toward the midrib, dimpled with slight puckering; edge widely rippled, widely oval with cuspidate tip. 'Jimmy Crack Corn' (R. Sawyer NR) Large 24" high by 40" wide, near white flowers. Large horizontal chartreuse changing to gold leaves, deep impressed veins, margined with piecrust edge. The gracefully rippled edge is unusual on a hosta with golden yellow leaves of this size. Site in morning light then full shade. $15.00
'Journey's End' (H. Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery, 2004) Giant hosta. This sport from 'Choo Choo Train' produces large heart-shaped leaves with a gently ruffled edge. The yellow-gold leaves displays several shades of green where the wide dark green margin bleeds into the gold center. Pale lavender flowers open above the 6-foot clump of foliage in midsummer. Filtered shade or morning light draws the richest colors from the plant. 'Journey's End' was a multiple award winner at two American Hosta Society National Conventions. A selection that only gets better with time. $17.00
'Jubilee' 18” high by 35” wide. Leaf Detail: 8” long by 4” wide; dark green in the center with a ½” wide, yellow margin. Flowering: lavender flowers in July on two-foot scapes. Comments: richly variegated and fast growing cultivar; another seedling selection from Dick and Jane Ward. $20.00

'Juha' 10" high by 20" wide. Sport of ‘Striptease’. Smaller than 'Striptease' but with good substance. Gold-green leaves with wavy white margin, turning yellow-green later in season.The ‘Striptease’ signature “white line” is still apparent on this moderate grower. 'June' (Neo Plants 91) Medium 15" high by 30" wide, violet flowers. Leaves are yellow with an irregular blue margin overlapping the center, resulting in blue and celadon streaking. Can be grown in full sun or full shade and the result is two very different coloured hostas. In sun the center of the leaf becomes cream-white. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant. 'Kabitan' (F. Maekawa 77) Small 10" high by 24" wide, dark purple flowers. Chartreuse, turning rich golden yellow, narrowly and irregularly margined dark green, satiny and shiny, slightly dimpled; edge rippled, arching, lanceolate. 'Kabuki' (G. Johnson) Medium 14" high by 30" wide. Leaves medium green with wide white margin. White margin is very irregular, sometimes it is larger than the green center. Each leaf looks different, depending on the amount of white. A striking hosta. $12.00
'Katherine Lewis' (Lewis NR) Medium 30" high by 30" wide. Good substance, smooth, old-gold to yellow turning ivory-white, irregularly and narrowly margined dark green with occasional streaks, conspicuously veined; edge widely undulate, folded, oval with a cuspidate tip. 'Katie Q' (Zilis) Large hosta, 18" high by 45" wide. Leaf detail: 7" long by 4" wide; medium to dark green margin center (bluish early); 1/4" to 1/2" wide, medium gold margin; slightly wavy; average substance Flowering: pale lavender flowers in July on 18" - 30" scapes. Mound of green-centered, gold-edged foliage; sport of 'Marilyn', outstanding for vivid foliage colors and good growth rate. $12.00
'Katsuragawa Beni' (Japanese) Small 12" high by 20" wide. 'Beni' translates to 'crimson', referring to the unique colouration on the petioles and spotting frequently part way onto the narrow, shiny-green, pointed leaves. $15.00	For photo click on www.hostalibrary.org
'Key Lime Pie' (Hansen/Shady Oaks) Large 24" high by 40" wide. Features nice green leaves with a wide yellow edge. The heavily ruffled leaves are held horizontally, which produces a wide, flat, mounded plant. Sport of 'Squash Casserole'. $15.00
'Key West' (O. Petryszyn, 1999) Giant hosta. 'Key West' a member of Olga's "Americana Series," is a cross between H. nigrescens 'Elatior' and 'High Noon'. The bright gold, heart-shaped leaves are very large and form a clump of foliage that when mature will reach over six feet across. Bright filtered shade draws out the most intense gold coloration. Lavender flowers top the clump in early summer. A choice selection. $15.00
'Kifukurin Hyuga' Shiny medium green leaves with a creamy-yellow edge; lavender flowers. Narrow, pointed, nicely veined foliage and late flowering period. 'King Tut' (Harshbarger 81) Medium 18" high by 30" wide. Flowers near white on 36" scapes. Chartreuse turning to bright gold, with heart shaped and heavily textured wide leaves; corrugated; cupped. Forms a symmetrical mound. Slug resistant. $15.00

'Korean Snow' (Solberg 99) Medium 12" high by 30" wide, bright purple spidery flowers. Good substance, glossy, mid-green, randomly streaked and flecked creamy white giving a misted affect early in the season, slightly dimpled, widely spaced veins. 'Krossa Regal' (Krossa/Summers 80) Giant hosta 28" high by 70" wide. Leaf blade 11" by 7". Good substance, smooth, soft grey-blue, widely veined; edge slightly undulate, slightly arching.
