'Hacksaw' (R. Livingston, NR) Dwarf hosta, 10" high by 18" wide. Deviating from the traditional leaf shape in hostas, 'Hacksaw' displays long, tapered, light green leaves that are intensely rippled and lightly serrated on the leaf margins. With its incredibly vigorous growth rate and smaller plant habit, 'Hacksaw' lends itself for use as an edging plant. Masses of lavender flowers top the clump in mid to late summer. Exhibits good sun tolerance resulting in a lighter leaf color. $12.00

'Hadspen Blue' (Smith 88) Medium 18" high by 38" wide, near white flowers. Thick, smooth rich blue, some dimpling; edge almost flat, slightly cupped or convex, heart shaped to nearly round. One of the most 'intense' blues of the Tardiana group. Sun tolerant. Slug resistant. $15.00

'Halcyon' (Smith 88) Medium 18" high by 43" wide, near white flowers. Smooth, intense blue; edge almost flat, widely oval with a long thin tip. Holds colour well into late summer in good light to dappled shade. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant. $15.00

'Hampshire County' (W&E Lauchman 93) Medium 19" high by 44" wide. Broad dark green leaves with a clean very wide white margin. A timeless treasure from the Lachmans. Slug resistant and near white flowers. $15.00



Hampshire County Hosta
'Hanky Panky' (H. Hansen, Shady Oaks Nursery, 2004) 15" high by 36" wide. This unusual hosta has been described by nurserymen as "unlike any hosta we have ever seen" and "you've never seen a hosta like this before." Occuring as a natural sport of 'Striptease', 'Hanky Panky' emerges in the spring with dark green leaves edged with a pale lime edge. An ivory halo separates the center from the margin. As the summer progresses, the center brightens to a creamy-yellow color as the "Striptease-pattern" changes to a dark green and the margin then becomes near white. Lavender flowers top the vigorous clump in midsummer. $20.00

'Harpoon' (Herold) Medium 16" high by 36" wide. Hosta 'Harpoon' was selected as the winner of the "Best in Show Award", the Herb Benedict Award (best variegated leaf hosta), and the Pauline Banyai Award (most distinctive unregistered seedling) at the 1995 AHS convention leaf show. Narrow, wavy, glossy green leaves, with a 1/2" wide rippled creamy border, that emerges gold. The vigorously growing clumps are topped in midsummer with 40" scapes of dark lavender flowers. Sharp contrast between dark green center and yellow margin; dense mound habit; hybrid of 'Swoosh' X H. yingeri developed by Roy Herold of Carlisle, MA. Sun tolerant. $15.00

'Hawkeye' (Maroushek) Medium 12" high by 20" wide. Site in morning sun, open mound with upward facing leaves. Another new one from Lillian Maroushek, this one is named after the state of Iowa where she was born. A rounded medium green leaf with a wide golden-yellow margin is slightly cupped and displays good substance. Pale-lavender flowers held well above the clump in June. Sun tolerant. $20.00

'Heart Broken' (Solberg) Dwarf hosta 10" high by 20" wide. Yellow leaves turning medium green with a heavily rippled margin. Sport of 'Faithful Heart', oval leaves on a small, dense clump. Pale purple flowers. $12.00 and $15.00

'Heavenly Tiara' 15" high by 24" wide. A sport of 'Grand Tiara'. Smooth leaves of heavy substance are gold with wide, light yellow, jetting margins in spring. By summer, the leaf center turns chartreuse and the margins brighten to ivory. Purple flowers are produced in midsummer. Registered by Walters Gardens, Inc. Sun tolerant. $15.00

'Hideout' NEW 2010 (Leonard Jones) (Sport of ‘Hidden Cove’) - Mini, (4.5” X 11”) This little fella has very curly, white-centered, narrow dark green leaves that appear to be in constant motion. It is a fast growing hosta that favors some cool sun and plenty of water. A great container plant, it blooms in June and July with lavender flowers. $20.00

'High Society' (Hansen/Shady Oaks) Medium 16" high by 37" wide. White centered 'June' sport. Emerges in spring with a narrow, warm yellow center which widens and brightens to white by midsummer. Wide, blue margins. Pale lavender flowers open just above the mound of foliage in late summer. Small and slow growing, but a fantastic specimen. Very classy hosta! Slug resistant and sun tolerant. $20.00

'High Tide' (H. Hansen, 2005) 20" high by 38" wide. 'High Tide' is a 1998 cross between H. longipes latifolia and H. 'Dorset Blue'. It features a nice compact clump, of frosty blue-green, heart-shaped leaves. Pretty lavender flowers open on 20 inch scapes in late summer. A good hosta for the front of the border or along a shaded garden walk. Slug resistant. $15.00

'Hippodrome' Large hosta, 15" high by 40" wide. Leaf detail: 10" long by 9" wide; blue-green to dark green center, 1/4" wide, creamy yellow margin; thick substance. Flowering: near-white flowers in July on 20" scapes. Broad, dark green leaves with a neatly rippled, creamy yellow margin; hybrid of 'Christmas Tree' X 'Halcyon' from Alex Malloy. 'His Honor' Large hosta, 22" high by 50" wide. Leaf detail: 12" long by 9" wide; green-centered with a 1" wide, yellow margin; thick substance Flowering: whitish flowers in July on four-foot scapes. Large mound of Sieboldiana-type foliage with wide, yellow margins topped by tall scapes of whitish flowers; from Jim & Sandy Wilkins of Jackson, MI (2000 AHS). Slug resistant. $15.00

'Hollywood Lights' (H. Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery, 2005) 23" high by 48" wide. The handsome, large, arching dark green leaves of 'Hollywood Lights' are accented by a yellow flare in the center of the leaf. The dome-shaped leaves form a large clump, and are topped by arching scapes of pale lavender flowers in midsummer. A wider-margined selection from H. 'On Stage'. Slug resistant. $20.00

'Hyuga Urajira'10" high by 20" wide. (Japan, NR) This stunning selection of Hosta kikutii was imported to the U.S. from Japan by Minnesota's Hosta Guru Hideko Gowen. H. 'Hyuga Urajiro' features frosty blue spear-like leaves with yellow streaks. The undersides of the leaves have a metalic silver coloration. A true collector's gem. $15.00

'Ice Follies' NEW 2010 (Bill Meyer) 24" high by 50" wide. This showy variegated cultivar is a wide-margined sport of ‘Antioch’. Dark green leaves display wide, pure creamy white margins all season. The long, pointed leaves quickly form a nice mound, as it has a good growth rate. Pale lavender flowers are produced atop 26 inch scapes in midsummer. $20.00

'Inniswood' (Inniswood Gardens 93) Large 22" high by 48" wide. One of the best, this is a sport of 'Sun Glow', with beautiful bright gold, heart-shaped leaves with deep green margins. The foliage is nicely corrugated when mature and has good substance, forming a mound up to 4' wide. Lavender flowers. Absolutely gorgeous when mature. Among the most popular hostas of its type. Inniswood Hosta
'Invincible' (Aden 86) Large 20" high by 49" wide. Rich glossy green leaves with unique texture and good substance make you look twice at this beauty. A plant truly worthy of it's name! Extremely fragrant pale lavender flowers in mid August. Keep this totally awesome plant watered and it can weather even 100 degree days in full sun! 'Island Charm' (Rasmussen/Malloy 97) Small 10" high by 22" wide, reddish leaf petioles and flower scapes. This new introduction from NY's George Rasmussen is one the best small white centered hostas to come along in years. The thick white leaves are surrounded by a wide medium green border. In early summer, the fast multiplying clumps are topped with attractive pink red scapes and dark lavender flowers. Site in morning sun or light shade. $20.00

'Ivory Coast' 29" high by 48" wide. A smaller sport of 'Sagae' with much wider leaf margins. Broadly ovate, pointed leaves are grey-green with rippled, yellow margins. Center darkens to blue-green and the edge lightens to ivory in summer. Grey-green jetting is present between the center and margin .Lavender flowers are produced on tall scapes in early summer. 'Jack of Diamonds' (Savory) Large 16" high by 40" wide, near white flowers. Very thick, leathery, rich blue-green irregularly margined yellow turning cream, corrugated; edge slightly undulate, shallowly cupped or convex, heart shaped. Slug resistant. 'Jason And Katie' (Hatfield) Medium 20" high by 33" wide. A sport of H. 'Christmas Gold' that is one of the most vigorous hostas we've seen dark green leaves are very round and surrounded by a bright yellow border. Tremendous substance and heavy puckering on a low growing clump that doesn't seem to mind dryer conditions. Named after Mr. Hatfield's long time pets that both passed on in the same year. We can't say enough good things about this plant. Slug resistant and sun tolerant. $15.00

'Jewel of the Nile' (K. Walek, 2000) Medium 22" high by 50" wide.This spectacular hosta, which was registered in 2000, is a sport of another of Kevin's beautiful hostas, 'Dee's Golden Jewel'. 'Jewel of the Nile' forms a large, upright mound of shiny, bright blue leaves that are edged with a wide irregular gold border. Its near white flowers bloom in June or July. 'Journey's End' (H. Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery, 2004) 25" high by 70" wide. This sport from 'Choo Choo Train' produces large heart-shaped leaves with a gently ruffled edge. The yellow-gold leaves displays several shades of green where the wide dark green margin bleeds into the gold center. Pale lavender flowers open above the 6-foot clump of foliage in midsummer. Filtered shade or morning light draws the richest colors from the plant. 'Journey's End' was a multiple award winner at two American Hosta Society National Conventions. A selection that only gets better with time. Sun tolerant with near white flowers. $15.00

Jubilee Hosta
'June' (Neo Plants 91) Medium 16" high by 37" wide, violet flowers. Leaves are yellow with an irregular blue margin overlapping the center, resulting in blue and celadon streaking. Can be grown in full sun or full shade and the result is two very different coloured hostas. In sun the center of the leaf becomes cream-white. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant. 'Kabuki' (G. Johnson) Medium 14" high by 32" wide. Leaves medium green with wide white margin. White margin is very irregular, sometimes it is larger than the green center. Each leaf looks different, depending on the amount of white. Another striking hosta out of Greg Johnson's breeding program (('Neat Splash' x 'Northern Halo') x 'Hadspen Blue'); combines the best of its parents, becoming a medium-sized mound of beautifully variegated, white-margined foliage. A striking hosta. $15.00




Kabuki Hosta
'Katie Q' (Zilis) Large hosta, 18" high by 45" wide. Leaf detail: 7" long by 4" wide; medium to dark green margin center (bluish early); 1/4" to 1/2" wide, medium gold margin; slightly wavy; average substance Flowering: pale lavender flowers in July on 18" - 30" scapes. Mound of green-centered, gold-edged foliage; sport of 'Marilyn', outstanding for vivid foliage colors and good growth rate. Slug resistant. $15.00


Katie Q Hosta
'Katsuragawa Beni' (Japanese) Small 12" high by 24" wide. An outstanding rarity from Japan, the red from the petioles speckles into the wavy, green leaves. It was found in the wild by Mr. Hiroshi Masaoka at Nomura village on Shikoku Island. It was tentatively named 'Katsuragawa Beni' (Beni = red in Japanese) by Mr. Toshiro Shimizu [Toyozo]. $20.00

'Key Lime Pie' (Hansen/Shady Oaks) Large 18" high by 44" wide. An amazing sport of our H. 'Squash Casserole'. Unlike the gold leaf of the parent, H. 'Key Lime Pie' has a green leaf surrounded by a dramatic wide ruffled gold edge. H. 'Key Lime Pie' has the same vigor as its parent and quickly forms a 5' wide clump. In early summer, the clumps are topped with 20" scapes of light lavender flowers. This hosta is destined for stardom! Sun tolerant. $20.00


Key Lime Pie Hosta
'Key West' (O. Petryszyn, 1999) Giant hosta, 37" high by 88" wide. 'Key West' a member of Olga's "Americana Series," is a cross between H. nigrescens 'Elatior' and 'High Noon'. The bright gold, heart-shaped leaves are very large and form a clump of foliage that when mature will reach over six feet across. Bright filtered shade draws out the most intense gold coloration. near white flowers top the clump in early summer. A choice selection. Sun tolerant. $20.00


Key West Hosta
'Kiwi Full Monty' NEW 2010 18" high by 45" wide. Emerges with frosty blue leaves that have a blue-green center surrounded by a white line (same as H. 'Striptease). The center later turns to bright gold. Topped with lavender flowers. Excellent substance and good vigor are also evident with this rapid multiplier. $20.00

'Komodo Dragon' (Seaver) Giant hosta 28" high by 72" wide. Leaf blade 15" by 11'. This Mildred Seaver introduction makes a stunner of a clump! The heavily rippled dark green pointed leaves stretch outward to form an impressive upright H. fluctuans-like clump. Don't plant one of these unless you have plenty of room. Large, loose piecrust edge on large dark green leaves; white flowers. . Slug resistant. $20.00

'Krossa Regal' (Krossa/Summers 80) Giant hosta 33" high by 71" wide. Leaf blade 11" by 7". 'Krossa Regal' is a 1974 Eunice Fisher Award hosta and a must for every garden. It displays an upright vase-shaped habit of frosty blue-green wavy leaves. It has lovely orchid colored flowers on 5' scapes. The hosta was brought from Japan by Gus Krossa, who purchased it there, and registered in 1980 by Alex Summers. The leaves are leathery and held at a distinct angle. The plant is good to use with base plantings because of its upright habit. It is generally accepted to be a nigrescens hybrid and has not yet produced a viable seed. A good grower and one of the most common and distinctive hostas, it is considered one of the cornerstones of a hosta garden. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant. $30.00
