'Hanky Panky' (H. Hansen, Shady Oaks Nursery, 2004) MEDIUM (15" high by 36" wide.) This unusual hosta has been described by nurserymen as "unlike any hosta we have ever seen" and "you've never seen a hosta like this before." Occuring as a natural sport of 'Striptease', 'Hanky Panky' emerges in the spring with dark green leaves edged with a pale lime edge. An ivory halo separates the center from the margin. As the summer progresses, the center brightens to a creamy-yellow color as the "Striptease-pattern" changes to a dark green and the margin then becomes near white. Lavender flowers top the vigorous clump in midsummer. $20.00

'Happy Valley' NEW 2012 LARGE (18 high by 49 wide.) Leaf Detail: 9 long by 5 wide; dark green in the center with a ¼ wide margin that changes from creamy yellow to white; moderately wavy; ovate-shaped blade. Flowering: pale purple flowers from late August into September on 24 scapes. Comments: attractive variegation; vigorous grower; Bill & Eleanor Lachman hybrid (Hosta hypoleuca pollen parent) from the 1990s that is still rare in collections and nurseries; possibly the best white-edged hosta youve never grown. $17.00

'Heart Broken' (Solberg) DWARF (10" high by 20" wide.) Yellow leaves turning medium green with a heavily rippled margin. Sport of 'Faithful Heart', oval leaves on a small, dense clump. Pale purple flowers. $17.00

'Heat Wave' NEW 2012 MEDIUM (12" high by 30" wide.) A sport of 'Bright Lights' with wider margins and a stronger growth rate. In spring, the leaves are chartreuse with wide, blue margins. In summer, the leaf center brightens to gold and the margins deepen to blue-green. When mature, the thick foliage exhibits some puckering. Near-white flowers are produced on 16 inch scapes in early to midsummer. $17.00

'Hideout' (Leonard Jones) (Sport of Hidden Cove) DWARF (5" high by 11" wide.) This little fella has very curly, white-centered, narrow dark green leaves that appear to be in constant motion. It is a fast growing hosta that favors some cool sun and plenty of water. A great container plant, it blooms in June and July with lavender flowers. $17.00

'High Society' (Hansen/Shady Oaks) MEDIUM (16" high by 37" wide.) White centered 'June' sport. Emerges in spring with a narrow, warm yellow center which widens and brightens to white by midsummer. Wide, blue margins. Pale lavender flowers open just above the mound of foliage in late summer. Small and slow growing, but a fantastic specimen. Very classy hosta! 'High Tide' (H. Hansen, 2005) MEDIUM (20" high by 38" wide.) 'High Tide' is a 1998 cross between H. longipes latifolia and H. 'Dorset Blue'. It features a nice compact clump, of frosty blue-green, heart-shaped leaves. Pretty lavender flowers open on 20 inch scapes in late summer. A good hosta for the front of the border or along a shaded garden walk. Slug resistant. $17.00

'Hollywood Lights' (H. Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery, 2005) LARGE (23" high by 48" wide.) The handsome, large, arching dark green leaves of 'Hollywood Lights' are accented by a yellow flare in the center of the leaf. The dome-shaped leaves form a large clump, and are topped by arching scapes of pale lavender flowers in midsummer. A wider-margined selection from H. 'On Stage'. Slug resistant. $17.00

'Holy Mouse Ears' DWARF (8 high by 19 wide.) Leaf detail: 2 1/4 long by 2 wide; bluish green margin, yellow to creamy white center; thick substance. 'Hudson Bay' NEW 2012 MEDIUM (24" high by 30" wide.) An improvement over its parent, Eskimo Pie, this new sport is a much showier, larger specimen and a stronger grower overall. The wider, brighter blue margin and apple green jetting contrast nicely with the creamy white center all season long. The leaves are of heavy substance, exhibiting good slug resistance in the landscape. This plant forms a large mound of attractive foliage topped with near-white flowers on white scapes in early summer. $20.00

'Hush Puppie' (T. Avent, 2005) DWARF (7" high by 13" wide.) This incredibly vigorous Hosta venusta hybrid features tiny, heart-shaped gray-green leaves edged with a creamy-white margin. Because of its diminutive size and rapid growth rate, it is suitable for edging garden paths, borders and landscape use. Dark lavender flowers top the clump in early summer. $17.00

'Ice Follies' (Bill Meyer) LARGE (24" high by 50" wide.) This showy variegated cultivar is a wide-margined sport of Antioch. Dark green leaves display wide, pure creamy white margins all season. The long, pointed leaves quickly form a nice mound, as it has a good growth rate. Pale lavender flowers are produced atop 26 inch scapes in midsummer. $17.00

'Irish Luck'NEW 2012 MEDIUM (18" high by 36" wide.) Even beginners wont need luck to grow this vigorous beauty! What makes it so distinct is the incredibly shiny finish on the leaves, like a glossy lacquer painted on each leaf. They are very dark green with pie crust rippled margins, deep veining, and good substance. This hosta grows quickly to form an upright vase-shaped clump in the landscape. Due to its H. plantaginea parentage, it exhibits some sun tolerance and produces sweetly fragrant, lavender flowers well above the foliage in late summer. $17.00

'Jewel of the Nile' (K. Walek, 2000) LARGE (22" high by 50" wide.) This spectacular hosta, which was registered in 2000, is a sport of another of Kevin's beautiful hostas, 'Dee's Golden Jewel'. 'Jewel of the Nile' forms a large, upright mound of shiny, bright blue leaves that are edged with a wide irregular gold border. EACH LEAF IS DIFFERENT. Its near white flowers bloom in June or July. This plant has excellent substance and is sun tolerance. This 'jewel' is even more beautiful than Cleopatra! Slug resistant. Sun tolerant. $20.00

'Journey's End' (H. Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery, 2004) GIANT (25" high by 70" wide.) This sport from 'Choo Choo Train' produces large heart-shaped leaves with a gently ruffled edge. The yellow-gold leaves displays several shades of green where the wide dark green margin bleeds into the gold center. Pale lavender flowers open above the 6-foot clump of foliage in midsummer. Filtered shade or morning light draws the richest colors from the plant. 'Journey's End' was a multiple award winner at two American Hosta Society National Conventions. A selection that only gets better with time. Sun tolerant with near white flowers. $17.00

'Key West' (O. Petryszyn, 1999) GIANT (37" high by 88" wide.) 'Key West' a member of Olga's "Americana Series," is a cross between H. nigrescens 'Elatior' and 'High Noon'. The bright gold, heart-shaped leaves are very large and form a clump of foliage that when mature will reach over six feet across. Bright filtered shade draws out the most intense gold coloration. near white flowers top the clump in early summer. A choice selection. Sun tolerant. $17.00

'King of Spades' (Beilstein 2007) (Neat Splash X Blue Moon) MEDIUM (16" high by 30" wide.) This unusual, medium blue-green hosta has extremely heavy puckering throughout its spade-shaped leaves. This eye-catcher forms a very tight clump in the garden and is a very tough, dog-proof plant. Lavender flowers in July. $20.00

'Krossa Regal' (Krossa/Summers 80) GIANT AND UPRIGHT (33" high by 71" wide.) Leaf blade 11" by 7". 'Krossa Regal' is a 1974 Eunice Fisher Award hosta and a must for every garden. It displays an upright vase-shaped habit of frosty blue-green wavy leaves. It has lovely orchid colored flowers on 5' scapes. The hosta was brought from Japan by Gus Krossa, who purchased it there, and registered in 1980 by Alex Summers. The leaves are leathery and held at a distinct angle. The plant is good to use with base plantings because of its upright habit. It is generally accepted to be a nigrescens hybrid and has not yet produced a viable seed. A good grower and one of the most common and distinctive hostas, it is considered one of the cornerstones of a hosta garden. Slug resistant. Sun tolerant. $17.00
