Nice purple flowers on red scapes in July
(Solberg 2011) - (H. clausa normalis F2 seedling) X 'Strawberry Banana Smoothie') This is the beginning of the next generation of red and yellow hostas. It is the largest of this very excellent and varied group of seedlings and has bright yellow leaves with bright red petioles and scapes. It keeps its yellow color very well and will be better in the shade garden as too much light will bleach it white. It is the one that Mark Zilis selected to produce for his nursery.

Slug resistant and sun tolerant
AHGA Hosta of the Year 2012
(Machen 00) When John Machen of Mobjack Nurseries in Virginia first displayed this plant at the 2000 American Hosta Society Convention it was without question the hit of the show. 'Liberty' is a sport of 'Sagae', with thicker leaves and a wider yellow margin that turns creamy white in summer. In all other respects, the plant appears to be the same as 'Sagae'. The margin gets wider as the plant matures.

Hosta 'Little Miss Sunshine'
SMALL 11" high by 20" wide
Light purple flowers on deep wine red flower scapes
Sun tolerant
This cute wavy leafed, gold hosta would look great in patio containers mixed with purple Heucheras and Carex ‘Evergold’. It is a fast grower that is sure not to disappoint! In the spring, the foliage emerges chartreuse but intensifies to bright gold as the season progresses. It tolerates some sun which helps to bring out the yellow coloring. This is a refreshing change from many gold hostas which turn green later in the season.

Hosta 'Loyalist'
MEDIUM 12" high by 27" wide

(Falstad 98) The show-stopping reverse variegation of the famous Hosta 'Patriot'. This plant has much heavier leaves, probably the result of being a tetraploid. Hosta 'May'
MEDIUM 12" high by 35" wide
Slug resistant and slun tolerant
(Shady Oaks Nursery, 1999) 'May' is the golden form of 'June'. It has the same growth habit and heavy substance as its famous parent. Like 'June', the intensity of its color depends on light. Brighter light is required to draw out a rich gold coloration. More shade produces a chartreuse color. 'May' adds a splash of sunshine to the front of the woodland border. Lavender flowers top the clump in late summer.

Hosta 'Mayflower Moon' NEW 2014
MEDIUM 18” high by 24” wide

This brightly colored hosta illuminates the shade garden with its chartreuse leaves that turn gold as the season progresses. The rugose textured, rounded leaves grow at a strong rate to form a medium sized mound. In early to midsummer, pale lavender flowers are produced above the foliage on chartreuse to gold scapes. Try combining this gold hosta with dark foliage plants like Black Snakeroot (Cimicifuga) or Heuchera ‘Obsidian’ for striking contrast. Distinctly blue hostas like ‘Blueberry Muffin’ and ‘Silver Bay’ also complement this gold hosta nicely.

Hosta 'Neptune' NEW 2014
LARGE 24” high by 47” wide
Slug resistant
Heavily rippled edges
This unique blue hosta is popular among hosta collectors and makes a very nice specimen in the home garden. In spring, the narrow wedge-shaped leaves are bright glaucous blue and they hold their color well. As the season progresses they turn more blue-green. The heavily rippled leaves are of good substance, displaying some slug resistance. This hosta has a lovely cascading form that is displayed to best effect when planted on a ledge or in a container. Lavender flowers are produced on arching scapes in late summer to early fall.
