Photo Don Budd'Sunlight Child' (R.H. Benedict, 1991) Dwarf hosta. This choice minature from the late Dr. Benedict has been passed around for over a decade, but has always remained rare. Little shiny yellow leaves comprise a nice tiny clump that is typed by lavender flowers in early summer. This hosta works well in the rock garden or a trough where its interesting form may be fully appreciated. 'Sunlight Child' is Hideko Gowen's English translation of her Japanese name. $15.00

'Sweet Home Chicago' (Zillis 99) Large 18" high by 42" wide. Chartreuse to yellow, widely and irregularly margined mid-green, dimpled; edge flat, widely oval to nearly round with a mucronate tip. The wide green margin makes a dramatic contrast to the bright yellow center, colours intensify as the season progresses. $12.00

Like 'Fragrant Bouquet', 'Sweet Innocence' has heart-shaped apple-green leaves, but with a much wider leaf margin. On mature plants, the leaves are dome-shaped rather than flat like 'Fragrant Bouquet'. A specimen hosta for bright, filtered sun.
