'Vulcan' (H. Hansen/Shady Oaks Nursery, Reg. Pending) LARGE (20" high by 40" wide.) This sport of 'Captain Kirk' has creamy-white leaves with dark green margins. Golden-yellow streaks occur along the interior margins where the white and green overlap. 'Vulcan' has a vigorous growth rate for a white-centered hosta. Pale lavender flowers bloom in mid to late summer. Classy! Sun tolerant. $20.00

'Wave Runner' LARGE (19 high by 57 wide.) Leaf Detail: Gold margin 12 1/2 long by 8 1/2 wide; chartreuse in the center with a heavily rippled, 1 wide, yellow margin; slightly corrugated; better than average substance. Flowering: purple flowers in July on 30 scapes. 'Whirlwind' (Kulpa 88) MEDIUM (19" high by 40" wide.) Thick, pale chartreuse becoming ivory to bright yellow then fading to drab green late, widely and irregularly margined dark olive-green with celadon streaking, strongly veined, slightly dimpled, twisted, recurved at the tip. 'White Elephant' LARGE (20" high by 50" wide.) (Franks 2007) (Sport of White Christmas) This hosta is an exciting introduction. It may be the large, fast growing, white-centered hosta for which we all have been waiting. Large, bright white leaves with a narrow dark green margin have lighter green streaks sandwiched in between. Light lavender flowers in July. Appreciates morning sun and ample water. $25.00

Good substance, dark green with a blue cast, widely and irregularly margined pale yellow to cream with streaks jetting to the midrib, dimpled; edge flat to slightly folded, widely oval with a cuspidate tip. 'Winter Snow' (Pine Forest Gardens) GIANT (33" high by 82" wide.) Leaf blade 16" by 14". Good substance, chartreuse to old-gold, misted, streaked and striped cream and white, irregularly margined pure white, prominently veined; edge undulate, slightly folded to cupped, widely oval with a cuspidate tip. Site in morning sun with plenty of moisture. A colourful addition to the many sports of 'Sum and Substance.' Sun tolerant. Slug resistant. $17.00

'Yankee Blue' LARGE (20" high by 50" wide.) This vigorously growing blue hosta forms a full, symmetrical, wide mound that really makes a statement in the landscape. The elongated wedge-shaped leaves with wavy margins hold their blue color well into summer, eventually turning blue-green late in the season. Near-white flowers top the clump in midsummer. $17.00
