HEMEROCALLIS (Daylilies) Full sun to part shade Z 2 - 9
Dayliles have been a garden favourite since Victorian days and are one of the most valued and dependable of all garden perennials. All prefer full sun or part shade and are very long lived. By choosing varieties that bloom at different times you can extend the flowering season from May through late September. The growth in the diversity of bloom size and colour has been fascinating with the collector now being able to choose from over 40,000 varieties. Daylilies are suitable for planting in perennial and shrub borders, massing as a groundcover or for planting in large containers. Several are also very fragrant.

Christmas in summer! A prominent gold throat bleeds out onto the diamond dusted petals. The saturated color of the blossoms is sunfast, so they’ll have no trouble standing up to summer weather. 'EARLY BIRD CARDINAL' FIRST EVERBLOOMING RED. In the ground, this daylily typically starts to bloom in mid-June which is several weeks earlier than most cultivars. Plants can rebloom up to 4 times per year, showing nearly 100 days of colour. Earlybird Cardinal™ produces 4” wide, watermelon red flowers with a pie crust edge and chartreuse throat. It is documented to produce 6 or more fans per season compared to 2-3 fans produced on an average daylily. It also tends to produce more than one flower scape per fan, so the plants quickly grow to form a highly floriferous, robust clump. 21" high.
$12.00 or 3 for $35.00 or 5 for $50.00

In our fields, we noted that this cultivar reblooms in late summer, though it is not officially registered as a rebloomer. Outstanding! 24" high by 24" wide.
